Elissa Gore’s atmospheric paintings depict the light from luminous skies as it brushes grassy fields and glitters on water. Whether painting on canvas, or on paper, through her unique combination of watercolor and oil pastel, she captures serene moments in the rural landscape.
Elissa was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and currently lives in New York City and upstate New York. She studied at the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Fine Art. Her work has been shown extensively nationally and is included in over 50 public and corporate collections. She has had more than 15 solo exhibitions and has taught classes in art technique for over 20 years at a number of schools and institutions, including Lehman College, Parsons School of Design, Pace University and Fairleigh Dickinson University. Currently she teaches landscape painting and drawing at the New York Botanical Garden.
